Podcasts and Vodcasts

A podcast is essentially an audio-only radio-style broadcast about any topic. A vodcast is similar to a podcast but the presentation includes video as well.

A podcast is best used for the types of audio recordings that one would typically hear via radio. Vodcasts are used better when the presence of video is essential to comprehend the content being shared via audio at the same time (since vodcasts are basically podcasts with video). Weather forecasts, breaking news events, biographies, and street directions can all be told via podcasts. Vodcasts could be good for documentaries, short comic clips, nature presentations, or even some advertisements.

One of my favorite podcasts is Outside/In, a documentary series that describes the complex interactions between the human system and the environment as a whole.
